Top Tips for Winter Weddings

We’ve been around the seasons a few times, filming beautiful weddings and we wanted to share a few of our favourite tips.

We love it when couples embrace winter colour schemes, whether is brilliant white, berry red or forest green. Wedding décor can look really stunning with a statement colour and add in some sparkle or crushed velvet and it looks opulent and makes filming a dream.

Lights, I know we say this about every season…. but hear me out. Whether its candles or fairy lights adding some shimmer makes everything so pretty. It looks amazing to shoot in soft glowy light and it gets dark early so embrace sparklers and fireworks.

Winter drinks, so we shot a wedding that served a boozy hot chocolate at the drink’s reception. They had a hot choccy station and it felt like I was in Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. Also a themed winter cocktail; hot toddy, eggnog, mulled wine. You get my drift, just a shame we must film!

Little touches, that are personal to you or well thought out and match your theme help your wedding look and feel amazing. So let’s start with nature; pine cones, dried oranges, twigs and foliage, clove and nutmeg, effective and you don’t need to break the bank. For us these add depth and interest and make your wedding feel luxurious.

The best favour was some home-made smores, all the guests went outside to cute little fires and made toasted a marshmallow. You can imagine how this looked on film, guests were gooey and so so happy.

So, when you’re thinking about your wedding plans, embrace the season. We love to capture winter weddings so book in a chat with us to find out more.

I’ll say this on every blog but the thing we hear the most at every wedding is other couples telling us that their biggest regret was not filming theirs.
